Impressions were dime a dozen and different, so I won’t dwell upon them. Just happy that we could make it happen despite all the difficulties. Got pretty tired, but still made the last efforts to enjoy the great show! Such a long expected event!
DP’s monitor engineer Rob, great person with an access to the Space from his own observatory. And the flowers are from another wonderful person, Gillan’s assistant Sally, whose talent I discovered here.
The rain on April 27 started on top of our organizational problems, exhausted minds and bodies. After a sleepless night early the next morning we headed to the airport to meet the guitar legend and his band.
Another moment and…here they are – the moment when timidly dreamed dreams come true… and the rain is a balm anymore.
The great jazz fusion guitarist and composer John McLaughlin and his band “The 4th Dimension” gave a concert on April 28, 2010 in Yerevan! Proud to say this as promoters of the event!

With his band complied of virtuous musicians and wonderful people such as Gary Husband – true instrumentalist, who plays keyboards and switches over to drums with ease, Mark Mondesir – brilliant drummer with perfect sense of rhythm and music, whom we had already had the pleasure of knowing back from Jethro Tull concert, Etienne M’Bappe – the finest bassist, whose gloved fingers glide imperceptibly flowing into a perfect bass melody, the legend of guitar John McLaughlin, restrained as a man on the stage, joking constantly behind it, played his “4th dimension” virtuous and divine music, passionately playing his guitar, bringing out the euphoric feeling which infected everyone, passed this elation to every music-lover.
Not only the rain was a balm anymore, but anything and everyone…

We seem to be quiet lately, some people keep on saying that. But things only keep on seeming like that, because recently our life away from public view has been very active.
Now our band is enlarged!!! Our Derik is now a double-father! In September little Suren Vardumyan was born, a little angel, probably drummer in the future (though his eldest sister Ani has already taken it on 
), or maybe a singer, or an actor like his parents.
Welcome to the family!!!

Meet other members of our band – Now Henry has got two new guitars - acoustic guitar Yamaha CPX 15-WA and electric guitar Peavey. Both are handcrafted guitars.
With the latter guitar Henry performed at the Guitar Festival, and it was actually the same guitar which “crashed” while playing on it. (Don’t know what happened then, but the guitar is ok now). Luckily he had the other guitar with him, but this incident was the reaso that journalists wrote about it (funny right, it was not about music, but the fact that a guitar crashed during the show…wow, who would guess!!!)
And eventually, our bride, who we, Vardan particularly, have been waiting for for some 6 months! Specially made for Vardan Grigoryan by Armen Blbulian!!!

Finally we have released a promo CD with 5 songs on it, before the whole CD will be ready or available on the internet.
So now, equipped with new “ammunition” we are ready to invade . Expect a live in concert in the future with a number of new songs.
Yeah, and me… I’m already wearing my red warm hat, it’s pretty cold outdoors, and waiting for the muse to visit me with a basket of lyrics for our new songs.

Mmmmm… no,, I don’t know how to put it down in words…the sensation was quite indescribable… It was an immense honour to be among the organizers of Jethro Tull concert in Armenia. Meeting and getting to know these legendary, meanwhile very humble people was one of the best things I’ve ever experienced!!!
You may think you know everything, whereas … the pleasant surprise makes you speechless…

Համենայն դեպս մեզ մոտ այդպես է:
Մեր առջև դրված նպատակը ու այն իրականացնելու մեծ ցանկությունը զորեղ գտնվեցին ամեն տեսակ պեսիմիստներից, մեզանից անպակաս բամբասանքներից, վատ լուրեր տարածողներից, գործի մեջ քար գցողներից: Ստացվեց այնպես, որ մեր գաղափարի ուժը իրեն ձգեց անգամ վարչապետին, ում ցանկությունն ու կրքերը միանգամայն համընկան մեր նպատակի հետ, ինչն էլ և դարձավ ծանրակշիռ խթան: Արեցինք այն, ինչ շատ ցանկացանք ու ինչին նվիրվեցինք մինչև վերջ:
Jethro Tull-ի համերգը կայացավ Հայաստանում!!!
Կայացավը այդքան էլ ճիշտ բառը չէ` նկարագրելու համար այն տոնը, այն հնչողությունը, լույսերի պարը, այն ոգևորությունը որ երկար ժամանակ, եթե ոչ երբևէ չի եղել Հայաստանում, ու դեռ հարց է` մեկ էլ կլինի, թե` ոչ: Համալիրի համերգային դահլիճը միահամուռ պայթում էր, ցնցվում էր, տոմսից ուշացածները ծեծում էին դռները, համալիրի դռնապանները նման հանդիսական երբեք չէին տեսել: Համերգը նկարահանել չթույլատրելու բոլոր փորձերը հօդս ցնդեցին. դահլիճը էքստազի մեջ էր, կրքերն անկառավարելի էին բեմը գրոհելու աստիճան, ինչի փորձը կիսահաջող ավարտվեց Անդերսոնի ոտքերի տակ նետված մեր պարսկահայ բարեկամի կողմից, ում համար անհանգստացողներին հանգստացնելու համար ասեմ, որ ոտքերից ու ձեռքերից բռնած նրան դուրս հանող անվտանգության աշխատողները նրան հատուկ վնաս չեն պատճառել, դեռ ավելին` համերգից հետո Անդերսոնը նրա և նաև դրսում հավաքված մեր բարեկամ վրացի մելոմանների համար մեծահոգաբար ստորագրեց:
Իսկ այս ամենի պատճառը… Երևի թե առաջին անգամ Հայաստանը անմիջնորդավորված կերպով տեսավ պրոֆեսիոնալի աշխատանքը, ով ուշադրություն է դարձնում յուրաքանչյուր հնչյունի, կարևորություն է տալիս ելևէջի ու լույսի ներդաշնակությանը, ով ոչ տարիքը, ոչ էլ հոգնածությունը մատի փաթաթան չի դարձնում թերությունները կոծկելու համար, այլ պարզապես դրանք թույլ չի տալիս:
Նրանք իրենց առաքելությունն արեցին վերին հանգստությամբ, կատակներ անելով, առանց բարդություններ ստեղծելու, առանց վերամբարձ պահանջների, իսկ նրանց անասելի համեստությունը ստիպում էր կարմրել, գլուխ խոնարհել, կասկածի տակ դնել բոլոր աստղերի մասին ասեկոսեները, կամ էլ` կասկածել նույն այդ «աստղերին»: Համբերատար շփվեցին ընդունելությանը հրավիրված բոլորի հետ առանձին-առանձին, չվարանեցին լինել անկեղծ, որքան էլ անցանկալի լիներ ճշմարտությունը, անգամ համբերատար պատասխանեցին լրագրողների տրիվիալ հարցերին:
Այստեղ կարելի էր թվել նաև, թե ինչ արեցին հետո, ինչ խոսեցին ընթրելիս, ինչ ասացին քաղաքի փողոցներով շրջելիս, բայց փչացած հեռախոսը մեր խաղը չէ, թերևս, միայն մեկ բան. Կեսարը կասեր` եկա, տեսա, հաղթեցի, իսկ Յան Անդերսոնն ամենայն համեստությամբ վերջում ասաց. «Շնորհակալություն, որ ամեն ինչ արեցիք, որպեսզի այս համերգը միջազգային ստանդարտներին համապատասխան կայանա Հայաստանում»:
Իսկ դրա համար մեր հերթին պետք է շնորհակալություն հայտնենք Հայաստանում այդ բնագավառի միակ լավ մասնագետներին, որոնց մատների վրա կարող ես հաշվել ու որոնց հետ աշխատելը մեր բացառիկ առավելությունն է:
Եթե Հայաստանի գոնե 10%-ը հասկացավ, թե Երևանում Jethro Tull-ի համերգը ու նրանց եվրոպական համերգային շրջագայության շրջանակներում հայտնվելը ներկայացուցչական ինչ կարևոր իրադարձություն էր քարտեզում իր աննշան տեղը զբաղեցնող Հայաստանի համար, ուրեմն մեր երկրում ամեն ինչ չէ, որ կորած է:
